dance theater Mississippi to debut “Wade in the Water,” a Transdisciplinary Show During Harlem Renaissance Weekend at 100 Men Hall

dance theater Mississippi returns to the stage on Sunday, February 5th from 6:00–8:00PM in the debut of Wade in the Water. The performing arts group is coming to Bay St. Louis after a successful performance at the Gulfport Arts Center in December.
dtMS founder
Shaninun Pittman, founder of dance theater Mississippi, shares the highlights of the debut of Wade in the Water, “First, the performance is a tribute to Bay St. Louis’ own world renown sculptor Richmond Barthé (1901–1989). We celebrate his legacy through dance, performance poetry, music, and the display of the creative work of local visual artists. All of this is woven into an integrated mélange of the cultural arts like has never been done before as part of Harlem Renaissance Weekend at 100 Men Hall.”
Performers and artists participating from the Mississippi Gulf Coast are Nita L. Chase, Ann Madden, Gerrol Benigno, Greg Breland, Julien Bryne, Kat Fitzpatrick, Barbara Groves, Ellen Ellis Lee, Don Mathiston, Wilson Saunders, Emily Sholes Smith, Ebony Bradley, Adrianne Powers, LeKeisha Cotten, Eric Funches, Monica Hurst, Stacia Johnson, Simone Layton, Canethia Lyons, Stephanie Piper, Shaninun Pittman, and Patricia Quave.
