dance theater Mississippi returns to the stage on Sunday, February 5th from 6:00–8:00PM in the debut of Wade in the Water. The performing arts group is coming to Bay St. Louis after a successful performance at the Gulfport Arts Center in December.
Shaninun Pittman, founder of dance theater Mississippi, shares the highlights of the debut of Wade in the Water, “First, the performance is a tribute to Bay St. Louis’ own world renown sculptor Richmond Barthé (1901–1989). We celebrate his legacy through dance, performance poetry, music, and the display of the creative work of local visual artists. All of this is woven into an integrated mélange of the cultural arts like has never been done before as part of Harlem Renaissance Weekend at 100 Men Hall.”
